Keynote: From Climate Concern to Climate Action With David Geselbracht

March 20 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm EST

This keynote event features David Geselbracht, author of Climate Hope: Stories of Action in an Age of Global Crisis, and invites students and community members to explore how individuals and communities around the world are responding to the climate crisis with creativity, resilience, and purpose.

Drawing on in-depth research and on-the-ground reporting across Canada and internationally, the keynote highlights stories of innovation, collaboration, and leadership that challenge narratives of fear and inaction. Participants are encouraged to reflect on how local and global efforts can intersect to drive meaningful change.

The session fosters critical thinking, civic engagement, and environmental awareness, while empowering students to move from concern to action in their academic, professional, and personal lives.

By showcasing solutions-oriented storytelling and community-led initiatives, this keynote strengthens sustainability literacy and reinforces the importance of collective responsibility in addressing global challenges.

This activity supports SDG Month Canada by advancing Climate Action (SDG 13), Quality Education (SDG 4), Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), while promoting informed and engaged leadership.
