Measuring What Matters: From Ideas to Impact (Circle Series)
March 19 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm EST

Measuring What Matters: From Ideas to Impact is a facilitated, small-group dialogue session that brings together students, faculty, staff, and community partners to explore how social and environmental impact is measured, understood, and strengthened at Telfer.
Building on more than a year of work by the Telfer Sustainability Task Force to develop the School’s first Sustainability Plan, this Circle Series session provides a structured space for participants to share feedback, challenge assumptions, and contribute to institutional decision-making. The activity promotes inclusive consultation and collective ownership of sustainability priorities.
Through guided dialogue and collaborative reflection, participants examine what meaningful impact looks like in practice and how teaching, research, and community engagement initiatives can contribute to positive local and global change.
By centring diverse perspectives and lived experiences, the session strengthens systems thinking, civic engagement, and responsible leadership among students and staff.
This activity supports SDG Month Canada by advancing Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), while reinforcing evidence-based and participatory approaches to sustainability governance.
