Women, Disability, and Intersectionality: Designing for Equality and Leaving No One Behind

This year’s annual Feminist Legal Studies Queen’s International Women’s Day Conference will take place on March 13 & 14, 2026, in hybrid format at Robert Sutherland Hall with a theme of Women, Disability, and Intersectionality: Designing for Equality and Leaving No One Behind. The conference will focus on disability issues of relevance to women through an intersectionality lens. This year’s conference will allow for dedicated treatment of disability related topics by scholars, community members, and artists from within Canada and across the world. Our keynote speaker, Professor Anna Lawson (Principal’s Development Fund Visiting Scholar, Professor of Law, Co-Director for the Centre for Law and Social Justice, University of Leeds) will present on Women and Disability: Critical Reflections for Designing for Equality and Mobility Justice.
